Holly Hallstrom is an American former model who is best known for her appearance on the daytime game show The Price Is Right as one of the Barker’s Beauties models.
She was born on August 24, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
Hallstrom joined The Price Is Right in 1977 after Anitra Ford left the program, and appeared on the show until 1995, making her one of the longest-serving Barker’s Beauties.
She also appeared in a few movies, including The Tomorrow Man (1996), The Nutt House (1989) and Galaxy Invader (1985).
In 1995, Holly Hallstrom was fired from The Price Is Right by host Bob Barker.
She filed a lawsuit against Barker, alleging that he had created a hostile work environment and had fired her because of her weight.
The lawsuit was dismissed in 2000, but Hallstrom appealed the decision and the case was eventually settled out of court in 2005.
During the nearly ten years in which her lawsuit was in the courts, she spent all of her savings, sold her house and lived from her car.
She now resides in one of several houses that she owns in the San Antonio vicinity.
Despite the challenges she faced, Hallstrom has remained an inspiring figure.
She is known for her conviction and principles, and for her refusal to give up in the face of adversity.
It’s so ironic that just yesterday I was literally down a Bob Barker rabbit hole reading how Holly Hallstrom fought him in court for 10 years and all the sexual and other harassment going on by him.
She ended up living in her car and still refused to give up her fight & she WON
