Julius Malema is a South African politician and the founder and leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) political party.
He was born on March 3, 1981, in Seshego, Limpopo province, South Africa.
Malema began his political career as the president of the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in 2008.
He was known for his fiery speeches and controversial statements, which often drew criticism from his opponents.
In 2012, he was expelled from the ANC for bringing the party into disrepute and sowing division within its ranks.
Following his expulsion from the ANC, Malema founded the EFF in 2013, which quickly gained popularity among young South Africans who were disillusioned with the ruling party’s slow progress in addressing issues such as poverty, unemployment, and inequality.
The EFF’s policies are centered around economic freedom, land reform, and the nationalization of key industries such as mining and banking.
Malema has been a vocal critic of the South African government and has been involved in several high-profile controversies over the years.
He has been accused of hate speech, incitement to violence and corruption among other things.
Despite this, he remains a popular and influential figure in South African politics, particularly among the country’s youth.

Malema married his long-time partner, Mantwa Matlala, in December 2014.
Matlala is a businesswoman and the founder of the Mantwa Matlala Foundation, which focuses on empowering women and children in rural areas of South Africa.
She is also a director of several companies, including the Malema family’s farming business.
Not much is known about Matlala’s personal life, as she prefers to keep a low profile and stay out of the public eye.
However, she has been seen accompanying Malema to political events and rallies, and has been described as a supportive and devoted wife.
Together, Malema and Matlala have two sons, Munzhedzi and Kopano.
