He is a former professional ice hockey player who represented Belarus at the Winter Olympics in 2002 and 2010, as well as the IIHF World Championships, over his 18-year career.
Koltsov played in the Kontinental Hockey League from 2008 to 2016.
According to sources, Sabalenka and Koltsov met for the first time in June 2021 and have been dating since the early months of 2021.
Before dating Sabalenka, Koltsov was married to his wife Yulia, but they parted ways in 2020 for undisclosed reasons.
